A10 Networks® Thunder® ADC product line of high-performance, next-generation application
delivery controllers enable customers’ applications to be highly available, accelerated
and secure. Thunder ADC is our premium ADC product line, delivering up to 153 Gbps of
throughput in a single appliance or 1.2 Tbps of throughput in a cluster, the broadest range of
form factors (physical, virtual and hybrid), and with expanded system resources designed to
support future feature needs.
The A10 Thunder ADC product line is built upon A10’s Advanced Core Operating System
(ACOS®) platform, with our Symmetric Scalable Multi-Core Processing (SSMP) software
architecture that delivers high performance and a range of deployment options for
dedicated, hosted or cloud data centers.
A Citrix ADC MPX appliance is an application delivery controller that accelerates websites, provides L4-L7 traffic management, offers an integrated Citrix Web App Firewall, and offloads servers. A Citrix ADC VPX instance is a virtual appliance that has all the features of a Citrix ADC MPX appliance, runs on standard servers, and provides a higher availability for web applications including Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp. A Citrix ADC SDX appliance provides advanced virtualization for all the flexibility of VPX with the performance of MPX. Using MPX, VPX, and SDX, an organization can deploy the flex or true-multitenancy solution that optimizes your web-application delivery infrastructure by separating high-volume shared network services from processor-intensive, application-specific services. A Citrix ADC appliance also provides the seamless integration with Citrix OpenCloud Access that can extend the data center with the power of the Cloud.
An application delivery controller is a device that is typically placed in a data center between the firewall and one or more application servers (an area known as the DMZ). First-generation application delivery controllers primarily performed application acceleration and handled load balancing between servers. The latest generation of application delivery controllers, such as the F5 BIG-IP® product family, handles a much wider variety of functions, including rate shaping and SSL offloading, as well as serving as a Web application firewall.A series of F5 devices, often located in widespread data centers within the same enterprise, is capable of working in concert by sharing a common operating system and control language. This holistic approach is termed application delivery networking.
